I wasn't sure where to put this topic, as it relates not so much to Tarot itself, but to divination practices presented on television in general. In recent months, when I have had the opportunity to watch esoteric programs, I have noticed a strange change in the way Tarot and other cards are used. Previously, they were mainly used to answer questions about the present and future or as a form of guidance. Now, however, all of the TV esotericism seems to focus on various methods of healing people. This includes such things as special codes, opening chakras, cleansing auras, healing ancestors, removing curses, sending energy and various rituals. Psychics have now undergone special training and are involved in remote healing by saying a few words or using a pendulum. I find this quite amusing.

I watch them break down the Tarot, talk about all the dirt, spirits, curses, etc., and frankly, it seems to me that television is completely distorting the original tenets of Tarot and divination. Perhaps I'm too attached to traditional methods and can't accept these new ways of practicing esotericism, but to me it looks more like responding to people's demand, and psychics have quickly taken on the role of spiritual healers. In my opinion, by doing so they lose their authenticity. I'm curious what your opinion is on this subject.

Welcome,

Until recently, I had no interest in television divination. However, when I started to explore Tarot, I noticed that whenever I mentioned it to others, they immediately associated it with TV shows, often laughing in the process. I believe that these programs make Tarot lose credibility and are taken frivolously. Just look at how divination is portrayed in them - the diviners don't even look at the cards, and the whole thing seems very artificial. You can see what people are capable of doing for money.

It's something completely different when you go to a tarotist in person - you can see everything, feel the energy, ask the questions that are bothering you, without worrying about a "broken connection."

As I mentioned before, to the phrase "Tarot" many people respond with "EzoTV" or "Cosmica TV," which is really sad.
