Hey, I've been having such a tarot-related dilemma lately. You hear a lot that tarot is "for everyone", but I somehow can't agree with that. It seems to me that not everyone is suitable for divination from these cards, even how hard they would try.
My assumption is that the cards sort of sense our attitude towards them. You can focus, clear them and do everything right, but if the cards sense that you have an indifferent or superficial attitude towards them, they won't open up to you and reveal the truth.
It's not even about being able to read the meanings of the cards, because you can just read the ready interpretations. But if the cards think that you do not approach them with due respect, they will simply show you a red card and that's it.
I wonder if it is by any chance related to our personality? Maybe people who are depressed, with low self-esteem, depressed to some degree, shouldn't play with tarot at all, because they can harm themselves by doing so? Although who knows, maybe I just don't have a predisposition hehe.
Well then, what do you think, is there any truth in this?
Tarot is not a toy for everyone. In my opinion, to use it well, you need more than just willingness. Some special ability or aptitude that not everyone has. Without this talent, even with the best of efforts, it can be difficult to establish a real bond with the cards and read them fully. Tarot, however, is probably not a tool that will work equally well for every person. Some people simply have a greater aptitude for it than others.
Technically, anyone can learn by heart the meanings of individual tarot cards. But for true divination, to really read the cards and their messages well, you need more than just dry knowledge. It's about that inner, magical power, the intuition that allows you to establish a deeper connection with the cards and understand their true meaning. Without this innate ability for divination, without this sixth sense, it can be difficult to fully read the message of the cards. Forging their meanings by heart is only the first step, but to actually divine well, you need something more - that special power that not everyone possesses.
@werona I have a different opinion. Here it's not just about learning. If someone doesn't have the right aptitude, it's nothing.
Tarot is not for everyone, and I am the best proof of that. The cards totally rejected me and didn't even give me a chance to learn what they mean. They just don't digest me very much.
@jagawiedzma Tarot is like such a picky person who does not want to make friends with everyone. You can approach him and try to make contact, but he prefers to stand aside and with his attitude give you signs "leave me alone, I don't want to talk to you". Every what period of time can tarot be placed? In the sense of ordering? What do you think of instagram tarotists? Can their tarot be real?
@szerukna Tarot can be addictive so don't order it too often. Those instagram ladies are more of a scam.
@szerukna Tarot is black magic , it is a collaboration with entities that are not inherently favorable to man although they are sometimes helpful. They show the potential of the moment , but you can not treat it as an oracle. Divination can be addictive and you should use common sense.
@mgielka Exactly right. The rule of thumb is that when someone wants to know something more than is given to a person, they have to reckon with the fact that this knowledge may come from something not entirely well-intentioned.
@sheina Even if tarot totally failed with me, it does not at all mean that it will be so with you or other people. You can always try, you don't risk anything. You will see for yourself how it will go with you.
The fact that at my place everything was collapsing, it may have been some kind of cleansing. Something was over, but with a bang! Usually when tarot doesn't want to work with someone, it is simply incomprehensible to that person.
In my case, maybe it was due to some karmic burdens? Maybe I once misused tarot or did something that closed my way to it for the future. Who knows.
On the other hand, with runes it is completely different with me, I like them very much. And tarot, in addition to the desire to learn about it, he just likes me visually, and I would like to have different decks, even collect them. But you can see not in this incarnation!
I advise you, when you take the deck in your hand, pay attention to your emotions and feelings. This will be the first sign whether there is any bond between you or not. That's why I, for example, prefer to buy certain things in person in a store rather than online. Then I can immediately sense what is going on.
It seems to me that if tarot is not written for someone, it will not even cross his mind to be interested in it. Such a person will simply not feel the call.
But it also happens that the problem is not with the tarot itself, but with the particular deck we are using. We may find that with one deck we feel completely out of touch. But another deck can instantly enchant us and establish a great bond with us. That's why sometimes it's worth switching decks if something doesn't feel right. The fault doesn't always lie with tarot per se, sometimes we just end up with the wrong cards for ourselves.
@stilla I can't quite agree with this, because tarot really interested me and I tried using different decks. However, no matter which cards I used, the effect was unsatisfactory.
@jagawiedzma I tried to work with lenormands. On the one hand I felt a certain attraction to them, I liked the deck. But on the other hand I was completely unable to understand them or learn their meanings. I had the impression that they did not want to make contact with me.
But maybe it's a matter of it simply not being the right time yet? Maybe we are not ready for cooperation for now, but who knows what the future will bring?

Some of them even scared me a bit with their appearance, but they were and are really beautiful. When I take them in my hand, I feel a huge hot energy inside me, so intense.... The cards sometimes just run away from my deck when I shuffle them, but these are the ones that give me real answers.
I'm just starting to read the finished interpretations, because for now it's very hard for me to pick out the meanings among so many, because I'm completely new to all this.... Maybe someday I will be able to read the cards on my own, but it will take time.

I have exactly the same experience.
First my sister had tarot, and it turned out that it "talked" better with me than with her - somehow I felt a greater bond with it. When my sister went abroad permanently, I decided to buy my own cards. Maybe it's trivial, but I browsed through the cards in Empik. I didn't really like any of them, so I left without anything, but one deck was memorable and I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. I finally bought it. At first the cards were a little "distrustful", showing quite pessimistic scenarios, but over time we started to get along. Now when I work with them, I feel such warmth from them, and the cards that fall out during the shuffle usually show the real answer.
I also have this feeling that if I lay out cards for someone who has no "talent" for tarot or has the wrong approach to cards and divination (for example, he thinks that the cards will show the only right scenario and makes his decisions dependent on it), tarot does not want to talk. Then cards appear that make absolutely no sense, have no connection to each other, and I can't interpret them. Then I know that nothing will come of it.
To be honest, I don't like laying out cards for others very much. I treat tarot as a way to visualize what is inside me. I believe that a person always knows the solution to his problem, he just has to find it within himself. When I lay out the cards, I ask them to show me the solution that is somewhere inside me, but which I can't find on my own. When laying out the cards for others, I find it more difficult to catch such a "connection" so that the cards "draw" the solution from them. It may happen that they show only what that person wants to hear, and then such a spread is pointless.
@pluszowy_kot Even when someone asks me about feelings, the cards often appear more related to material aspects, and I often interpret them taking into account the characteristics of the person. Because on the subject of feelings the cards say on average.... Eh. For now I try not to interpret myself, because I don't have enough knowledge yet.
Not a bad thing you write, seriously. Apparently I have a predisposition to divination from cards, but I've never checked it yet. Angel cards - cool, but tarot? Someone once told me that tarot is not my fave, that runes would suit me better. Who knows, maybe there's something in that.
I'm not going to play with it for now. If it's necessary, I'll go to someone who knows about it. Somehow this "fairy" doesn't fit me, I don't feel it. Not my vibe, no. ;P

Well, here I agree with you one hundred percent. I also don't like calling "fairy" someone who deals with Tarot or runes. Because fairies are, after all, those tiny creatures with wings, what they live on flowers and in the forest (just don't think I'm talking about elves) 😀.
And besides, I don't know why, but "fortune teller" sounds somehow not very serious. Maybe it's because that's how people from fortune-telling are often called. I there prefer the term "witch". After all, this word has something to do with "knowledge" and "knowing." More fitting, no?
In my opinion, the term advisor fits best. Terms like 'fortune teller' or 'fortune teller' seem inadequate.
On the other hand, the words witch or witch bring to mind a person who is engaged in the practice of magic.

Haha, I always say "it doesn't matter what you call it", everything has some common denominator. You can just be yourself, and not necessarily a psychic. Personally, I prefer the term tarotist/taroman.
As for the Angel Cards, they really are beautiful and have such gentleness about them. I'll probably get interested in them at some point too, if tarot doesn't work out for me.... We'll see what comes out of it.
@sheina Indeed, "tarotist" fits better 🙂 But when someone deals with different things at once, like Lenormand and Gypsy cards, that term may not be enough.
