I searched for this topic, but could not find it, well I am writing.
Magical atmospheres, something that has always been with us. Lately, I've started using magic consciously, for example, burning candles with some kind of intention. I'm not sure if it actually works, but I believe in it strongly.
A lit candle has a mega effect on me - relaxes me, relaxes me, helps me focus.... It's such a personal way for me to catch a moment of peace, especially in winter, when I miss the greenery.
And how do you guys have it? Do you do something similar? Any of your proven ways?
I often light candles with an intention.
I always do it when something important is on my mind, ask for help and it usually works out.
I have also noticed that a candle lit for someone often brings good results.
Let me start by saying that the first time I did this was over 3 years ago in a church in Ireland. There you could buy a candle for a few cents and put it under the altar. And that's where I first asked for something and got what I wanted....
And as for the rituals... I have heard that such a candle should not be blown out. You have to let it burn out, preferably extinguish it with an extinguisher or even muffle it with your fingers. I have a special copper extinguisher, but probably any other would also be ok, this one I just got from my grandmother.
I remember that my grandmother had candles of different colors, each with a different purpose. But unfortunately my grandmother is no longer alive, I can no longer talk to her about it.
I also like to burn candles in the room sometimes, although I don't do it specifically with any intention. But now, as I read your methods, I think I'll give it a try too. I'm new here, I'm just learning things, but I'll admit that I'm getting more and more drawn in by this forum 🙂 I'm not sure what to expect.
I recommend the book, because frankly, I don't want to write much here. "Candle Magic" by A. A. Chrzanowska is something for those who want to learn more about the magic of fire, candles and wishes.
I also love the glow of candles and believe in their magical power. If you want to learn more, I recommend e-oaza.pl - it's a site dedicated to the magic of candles.
@daffne I've searched this site before and found a lot of interesting stuff there 🙂 I've done it before.
However, I am still trying to find more information about using essential oils to soak candles, which oils to use for specific purposes, what they can help.... I'm having trouble finding detailed data on this subject....
@arabika This is a mystery. Mainly, the anointing of candles with the appropriate herbs, oils, etc. is to enhance the effect of the candle and help achieve the intended intention. Always before "anointing" the candle must be "cleansed" of negative energies - this is the basis used in White Magic.
I didn't even know that it's my "intention" candle burning that works great and I can feel whether it's good or bad, it's white magic! You surprised me. Huge surprise.
Anyway, please tell me, if you can, about candle purification. I know how to purify a stone before energizing it - with energy or salt water. Should I do the same with a candle?
Isn't it a mistake to burn white candles? I didn't know what colors fit for what occasion, and the white candle was neutral and worked great for me. So you can hardly call it a mistake....
But the big thinking has switched on for me now....
I would like to know if the color of the candle lit with intention is important? And what kind of candle should I use? A small, so-called washer, or maybe a long candle?
When it comes to colors, what color should I choose when I light a candle for the intention of a deceased person?
@dama Probably the best choice is a white candle, which symbolizes peace and spirituality.
It is good to use a traditional candle, not a warmer. I have also read that it is not recommended to use scented candles that have been pre-saturated with aromas.
I usually buy narrow, small candles that burn for about an hour and a half.
When burning candles, there are also some rules, such as avoiding lighting them with matches - it is better to use a lighter designed exclusively for candles. Also, do not blow out the flame, but smother it with your fingers or let the candle burn itself out completely.
@dama Clearly, color is important. A white candle is versatile enough to replace other colors. Candles should be at least 20 cm long. In the practice of White Magic, it is not allowed to burn a candle for a deceased person. If you feel the need, it is better to light a candle on the grave.
@roseflame Candles can be purified by using holy water or by surrounding with fire. It is good that you intuitively choose the white color - great, because it can replace all other colors.
Candle magic is not limited to white, but that's just a detail.... Whether you light a black candle or a candle of another color, it will work according to your intentions, for example, white can bring bad luck and black can bring good luck.
@daffne Well then, I will ask again, because I am very inquisitive!
Holy water is out of the question, because I do not believe in the ordination of water by priests.
Hmm, it occurred to me that maybe ordaining water is something like giving it intentions, like I do with a candle, but I'm not Catholic and I could be wrong.
Covering with fire... Or rather, smoke?
Because if I treat the candle with fire, at best it will melt and no longer be white. But maybe it's a matter of practice? That's what I'm thinking...
Do you think it's not good to cleanse with energy? I have symbols that clear everything of negativity and bad energies, so maybe?
But I'm learning it, so far it's new to me!
Thank you so much for your tips and for making my mind clearer 🙂 I'd love to hear from you.
The color, the type of candle, the composition of the wax and the wick can all be important. Their configuration changes depending on the purpose of use. For example: a black candle placed on a salt base with gold paint can be used to eliminate bad memories. It is the salt that is responsible for purifying the candle, transforming it into a kind of "transmitter." Adding a porcelain skull can intensify the effect. The same candle, but without salt and with the addition of red (even natural), can bring misfortune to the person for whom it is lit. This is the general outline. Listen, both of these descriptions are incomplete (the invocation and user preparation instructions are missing, for example), so no unauthorized person will benefit from this knowledge.
The salt purification procedure is quite simple, although it requires patience and some sacrifices. I won't write more, because this is obvious knowledge, and I wouldn't want to elaborate too much and bore you.
Simply put:
Romantic love, friendship - pink candle, rose or jasmine oil.
Erotic love - red candle, ylang-ylang or patchouli oil.
Professional success, career - yellow candle, cinnamon or rosemary oil.
Healing, cleansing - white or possibly light green candle, lavender or rosemary oil (white better for eliminating diseases, green promotes regeneration of health).
Money, financial success - green or gold candle (green for long-term prosperity, gold for a one-time influx of cash), cinnamon or bergamot oil.
Green - the color of nature, symbolizes development, balance and tranquility. It can also signify emotional problems and a desire for stability. People who prefer green tend to be sociable and avoid conflict, in love they value fidelity and stability.
Blue - the color of calm and composure. It symbolizes the need for recognition and the desire for progress. People who like blue tend to be calm, economical with words and shy. In health, blue has an anti-inflammatory and calming effect.
Red - the color of energy and passion, known to stimulate and give vitality. It is liked by bold, dynamic and sometimes impulsive people. In health, red stimulates circulation and raises blood pressure.
Yellow - the color of the sun, symbolizing creativity, inspiration and warmth. Preferred by open and sociable people, it can indicate issues with the digestive tract. Yellow is recommended in the treatment of tuberculosis.
Orange - associated with optimism and energy, helps to liberate from restrictions. Excessive orange can lead to over-tolerance. It is used to treat insomnia and digestive problems.
Violet - the color of spirituality and deep understanding, preferred by those with a passion for beauty and mystery. In medicine, it helps relieve stress and insomnia.
Black - the color of introspection and concentration. Can symbolize the need for love or the feeling of sadness.
White - the universal color of purity and new beginnings, blends well with any color.
Brown - represents a lack of confidence and a sense of danger. It goes well with white and black.
@bearpiqhouse Are you bored? Not at all, on the contrary, this topic fascinates me a lot!
As for obviousness... well, what is clear for others, for me is not always so. So please, feel free to describe to me exactly the method of purification with salt 🙂 .
Speaking of colors, when asked why white is considered universal, the answer is simple: white color most effectively reflects energy. Other colors modify this energy in different ways. However, it is mainly our intentions, our attitude, our knowledge of the subject, and the target at which we direct the energy that determines the strength and effect of the action.
I've heard of a technique for cleansing a room using salt and candles. You set up four white candles in the corners of the room, sprinkle some salt around each one, light the candles and observe. If the salt becomes damp, it may indicate impure energy in the room, such as demons and other negative entities. I'm not sure how much truth there is in this, but it can't hurt to try. Repeat the process until the salt stops absorbing moisture. It is best to avoid drafts in the room during this ritual.
I have to admit that I haven't tried to make it myself yet, but I'm tempted to give it a try.
I would like to share my experience with the candles I lit in connection with the passing of a loved one. At first, everything went normally - the candles burned evenly and had a long flame, especially when I cried or thought about the person. As my mood improved, the flame became smaller, but it got longer again when I felt worse. Recently, I encountered a problem with lighting a candle. Despite the fact that it was a normal candle from the package and had no defects, it wouldn't light. So I sat down, thought about this person and the flame, although it was small, began to visibly lengthen as I cried. This was something new for me - what could be the reason for this?
I'm new to the forum and I'm still getting to know it, but I have a question: can burning candles with intention carry any negative effects? For example, can it bring the opposite of the intended intention? I would like to use candles to support my relationship, but I'm a little afraid of that. 🙂
@rudi Lighting candles with the intention of strengthening your relationship should not bring negative consequences.
To enhance this effect, it is best to burn candles during the arrival of the moon. If, on the other hand, you want to weaken some factors, it is better to do it during the waning of the moon (after the full moon).
For relationship intentions, pink candles will be most appropriate.
@arabika Can you recommend any websites where I could find more information about burning candles for different intentions?
What should such a ritual With candles?
I also read that for intentions related to love, red candles should be used. Is this true, or as you wrote earlier, pink candles are best?
