A simple ritual

(@arkania)

In one of the books I found an easy and enjoyable ritual that I would like to know your opinions about. For me it has a therapeutic effect.

We need a piece of paper on which we draw a heart or write down the word "love," or any other thing we want - such as a bank bill, an apartment or a car. Then we write down all the negative emotions that come with it, such as fears of loneliness, financial instability or debt stress. This ritual is referred to in the book as the "Monster Wagon." - involves looking into the eyes of one's demons and honestly writing down everything that hurts us, what fears and anxieties we carry within us. We use dark, cold colors for this. When we are finished, we burn the piece of paper and put the ashes in water. Then we reach for a new piece of paper, on which we write down in warm, happy colors all the positive emotions associated with the realization of our desire, such as the feeling of understanding, the presence of a loved one or the possibility of having our own apartment.

I'm not an expert in magic, so I don't know how much such an action can affect reality. But Crowley claimed that any intentional action is magic. In my case, the fear card burned perfectly - it was the first time I was able to start such a fire.

Even if you consider it fun, I still wanted to share it because I think it is therapeutic. It helps tame fear and release negative emotions.

In my opinion, Crowley was not at all such a great magician as he is said to be. His personality is rather dark, so it is better to stay away from him.

As for your ritual, since you feel relief, it works. From what you write, it seems to be true, and if it really helps you, it's worth doing.

There are quite a few rituals similar to the one you describe. They share a common basis, although they may differ in detail.

It seems to me that people often avoid their problems on a daily basis. Putting them on paper can somehow change their energy and allow them to look at the situation from a different perspective. If you've ever kept a journal, played an instrument or drawn, you've probably noticed that these activities help you release whatever is weighing you down. Just taking a few minutes to consciously face your fear is already very helpful. In order to overcome fear, it must first be brought from the subconscious to our conscious attention. I once saw a program on phobias.... People felt an irrational fear, but when they confronted it, the fear began to dissipate. By writing about your "demon," such as financial instability, for example, you establish a dialogue with it and see it in a new light.

By the way, isn't it the case that when you stop being afraid of your demon, it loses its power? It seems to me that demons feed on our negative emotions.

@arkania You're right a lot, but the "demon" in this ritual is not a real entity, but rather an energy that is called a demon. By writing it on a piece of paper and then burning that piece of paper, we symbolically get rid of these negative energies.

And what is the point of throwing the ashes into the water? In the book it was recommended to burn the card first, and then its ashes should be thrown into the water.

For water, does that mean you have to use some natural body of water, like a river? Can it be done by dropping the ashes into a tub or bowl of water?
