Please help me understand the issue of divisions. As far as I know there are four different approaches to magic: energetic, spiritual, psychological and psychic. Could someone help me delve deeper into this topic?
In my experience, magic is not a unified force, but rather a collection of different approaches and techniques. We can distinguish between the Spiritual Model, the Energy Model, the Psychological Model and the Information Model, as well as the Meta-Model, which combines elements of all the others.
@hellan I am just starting my adventure with magic. To be honest, all the terminology is a bit overwhelming to me. The Spiritual model with spirits and demons sounds interesting, but I'm a little wary of it. The Energy Model with chakras and energies seems more "scientific," but does it really work? Could you explain it to me in some simpler way?
I am puzzled by the psychological model and the power of the subconscious. Does this mean that magic is just a matter of having the right mindset and using symbols?
magic is not a unified force, but rather a collection of different approaches and techniques.
I agree, magic is a complex phenomenon. Personally, I prefer the Energy Model. Over the years of practice I have learned to manipulate energies and use them for various purposes. This approach requires a lot of work and self-discipline, but the results are really rewarding.
@Mara, with the spirit model one must indeed be very careful.
Each model has its own advantages and disadvantages. The Spiritual Model is very powerful, but requires a lot of knowledge and caution. The Psychological Model is great for self-work and personal development. The Information Model is the most "modern" and is based on the transfer of information. The most important thing is to find the model that best fits our individual predispositions and goals.
Has anyone heard of such a thing as a meta-model?
@mirta The meta-model assumes that we can be flexible in our approach to magic and choose the tools best suited to a given situation. We can combine different models as long as we can do it safely and effectively.
I would add from myself that the choice of model often depends on the Magican tradition from which we come. For example, shamans from the Amazon will lean toward the Spiritual Model, while yogis from India will prefer the Energy Model.
The best way to understand different models is to experiment and observe the effects.
@Betalia, and how to start experimenting with magic? Where do you recommend to start? Are there any books or courses that could help me?
And could you tell me more about how to manipulate the energies? Is it difficult? Do you need to have any special aptitude?
@mara Manipulating energies is a process that takes time and practice. In the beginning, it is important to learn how to feel the energies that surround us. This can be done through meditation, breathing exercises or simple visualization techniques. With time, one becomes skilled and can begin to direct the energies in a conscious way. You don't need a special aptitude, but patience, perseverance and an open mind are helpful.
AND how to start experimenting with magic? Where do you recommend starting? Are there any books or courses that could help me?
If you are interested in the Psychological Model, I recommend Austin Osman Spare's books, such as "The Book of Pleasure." If you want to explore the Energy Model in more depth, you can reach for the works of Dion Fortune or William Gray. It is important that you find an author whose views will be close to you. You can also look for magicanych groups or workshops in your area.
Before you experiment, make sure you understand the dangers and can protect yourself from them. Magic can be a powerful tool, but in irresponsible hands it can also be dangerous.
@hellan And how can you protect yourself from the negative effects of magic? Are there any special protective techniques?
@mirta There are many protective techniques, both in the Spiritual Model and the Energy Model. For example, you can use amulets, talismans, protective rituals or visualizations. It is important to regularly strengthen your protection and be aware of potential threats.
@mirta I would add from myself that the best protection is strong will and pure intention. If our thoughts and actions are positive, we attract positive energies to us. In contrast, negative thoughts and emotions can weaken us and make it easier for negative energies to access us.
@sauwak I agree. It is important to take care of your energies and avoid contact with people or places that can harm us. It's also a good idea to regularly cleanse your aura and home of negative energies.

"The Book of Pleasure" sounds interesting. And could you recommend some specific exercises to start with? I've always had a problem with meditation, I don't know how to focus.
What about the chakras? Do they need to be unlocked somehow to manipulate energies? And how can they be "seen" at all?
