Hey, have you heard anything about runes? Which alphabet do you use most often, how do you make your sets? In general, share everything you know about runes!

I use the regular alphabet every day, but I can also write Futhark and even Glagolitic (I think) Slavonic.

I made my futhark from stones I found in my forest. Later I painted them with markers and protected them with varnish.

And I once heard about the fact that you can draw energy from the Sowilo rune - does anyone know how this is done? If so, can someone throw some example?

@vladi When I was talking about the alphabet, I meant which futhark you prefer - older, younger or Anglo-Saxon, or whatever (and I know a little Glagolitic too :D)

My stones are also made of pebbles, but such Baltic ones

As for Sowilo (or Sowelo) - it is a rune that stimulates the chakras and generally has a positive effect on our energy. But already with drawing this energy from runes I have a bit of a problem

@vatislav Aha, I see - well I use the older futhark, the one with 24 runes, without the extra one - Wyrd, that's what it was called?

Aaa... Baltic? Good choice. After all, they have the spirit of the Berserkers, all the Vikings and the lands that are associated with the futhark.

Well, that's right, you talk about stimulating the chakras - but when does this rune stimulate them? How do you carry it around with you, or how? Because as I carry all the runes in a leather pouch on my belt, I don't feel that I draw any power from them.

@vladi I also use the older futhark. Somehow it suits me best.

As for the chakras, they get stimulated when you carry the runes with you. And if you don't feel anything, it might be because you haven't charged them enough.

Are any of you familiar with the subject of runic sigils? How do you think, is it easy to create such a sigil?

@melisanna A sigil is a sigil, and a rune is a rune.

In theory, one can create a runic sigil. However, in practice, runes are created and used according to slightly different techniques than sigils. Therefore, in reality, we can rather make a working bindrun, even if we would like to obtain a runic sigil. Anyway, some people use these terms interchangeably. But they are different concepts nonetheless.

I see Old Germanic beliefs are still on the upswing....

I'm curious why so few people are commenting on this subject.... (maybe I'm wrong, and runes are slowly fading away after all...)

But it is certain that runes will never completely disappear, there will always be enthusiasts who will cherish the beliefs of the ancient Germans in the magical power of runes!

Since this topic is close to me, mainly through my interest in runes, I would like to ask you a question.

Have any forum members experienced and convinced themselves of the actual magical influence of runes?

Without limiting myself to specific types of runes, I am interested in any example of such influence....

Or has anyone been in contact with the laukaz rune, which can sharpen intuition, assist in the development and manifestation of occult abilities, facilitate knowledge and penetration into the mysteries and understanding of the laws of the Cosmos????

Thanks in advance for your answers and examples!

@nikopol The runes may have gone out of fashion some time ago as well. Although there are certainly still sympathizers of Odin, Thor and the rest of that crew in the world, but they are more like a handful of "berserkers" compared to the huge number of Christians and other "major religions"

Personally, I never used runes to achieve specific goals. They were only used for divination until I eventually switched to other methods.

And going back to my earlier question, could you explain to me how one can draw energy from the Sowelo rune?

@vladi Rather, they have not gone out of fashion. In my opinion, runes have recently become very fashionable, at least that's what you can conclude from esoteric programs on TV, where every second psychic uses runes. Also on websites the topic of runes is appearing more and more often. Most people reach for runes because they are considered the safest (or maybe the easiest?) way of divination.

@melisanna To me it's not about runes but about these Old Germanic beliefs.

@vladi You are right, runes are very fashionable nowadays...but these old, old Germanic beliefs are slowly being forgotten.

Let me join the rune lovers, as I live in Germany and have been exploring this field with interest.

I have a German friend who is an authority on the subject for me. He has completed all degrees of Reiki, and additionally uses runes for healing and reading the energy of words.

I myself use runes for healing and solving family problems. When in doubt, I call my "rune specialist".

When interpreting runes, I take into account the words - their sound, rhythm and position. This information can be found in some German books, written by people who are really knowledgeable about the subject (unlike Feng Shui, where reliable knowledge is often lacking). Of course, Anglo-Saxon sources are also valuable. The best book in my collection is Edred Thorsson's "Handbuch der Runen-Magie" ("Handbook of Runic Magic," unfortunately in German).

As for the power of self-made runes, it is a real art. That's why I don't have them so far. A friend of mine has been creating runes for a whole year, fasting and performing rituals to give each one power, according to runic law. They are all made of wood, written in blood so they can work properly. I use the Germanic runic alphabet.
