Rituals - aren't they magic?

I happen to hear that rituals have nothing to do with magic. That a ritual is more than just a sequence of actions. What do you think about this?

Someone who says this has no idea about magic. Rituals are not just actions, they are symbols. They are a way to express our intentions and connect with something bigger than us.

@hellan And is this connection real, or is it just our subjective feeling?

@mara I think it depends on our faith. If we believe that the ritual has power, then that power gets activated.

@sauwak Is magic just a matter of faith? This seems to me to be a considerable simplification.

@anima Not really. Faith is important, but equally important are our intentions and knowledge of what we are doing.

And what do you think about those who claim that magic is dangerous? Because I think that any force can be used for both good and evil. It depends, of course, on the intention of the practitioner. What do you guys think?

@betalia Magic is neither good nor evil. It is a tool that can be used for both good and evil.

@betalia For good and evil considered from the point of view of the goals set, no less, however, also the issues of intention and the way they are used, if they are intended to be manipulation and coercion in order to take advantage of another person or to force, for example, to love can one day bring consequences, if they are intended to release from us the energy that we ourselves block in order to show the real us, build a new us and manifest to the world that we are fantastic people, without hypocrisy and deception will not bring consequences. That's why for every ritual we should be prepared both spiritually and mentally and take part in it ourselves as well. No ritual, I repeat no ritual other than the imposition of curses and charms works remotely, that someone will do it for you and you just wait for the effects, even the rituals of the most hardcore religions required the active participation of the person asking for help and sincerity of intention and purity of spirit for them to have effects.

@anima One needs to know what one is doing and what the consequences of one's actions may be.

And is it possible to learn magic from books?

@mirta Books can be a good start, but they are no substitute for practice and experience.

And it should be added , it is not worth buying publications with little merit, only cluttering the head

So do you need to find a mentor?

If you do not have the knowledge it is advisable to do so books, but rather those of a higher field, I myself am just building knowledge on the knowledge of my mentor, look into reprints of old books such as from the XXL publishing house

@mara A mentor can be helpful, but is not necessary. It is important to find your own paths.

Everyone must find their own way in magic.

@mirta Natural magic is a very broad concept. It can be understood as the use of natural forces to achieve one's goals.

So it's such a more shamanistic approach?
